Dwelling in the blizzard-swept glaciers of the Frostfang Wastes, these thick-furred northern predators specialize in glacial attrition, stone-cold endgames, and quiet zugzwang traps.

In the endless white expanse of the northern Tundra, survival requires conservation of every spark of energy. The Frostfang Lynxes and Siberian mountain cats do not waste energy on flashy show-boating. They wrap themselves in their thick double-layered coats and wait.

Their ancestral fortress, the Ice Spire of Frostohr, overlooks frozen lakes that reflect the aurora borealis. The Lynxes understand that rushing forward on icy terrain leads to fatal slips. On the board, they construct crystalline pawn structures that completely close lines of attack.

Opponents who face the Frostfang often grow frustrated by the utter absence of open files or targets. But while the enemy grows impatient and makes rash pawn breaks, the Lynxes quietly maneuver their pieces onto optimal squares. When the blizzard settles, the opponent awakens to find every piece frozen in zugzwang.
