2. Kitten (~600 ELO): The Playful Learner

Biome: 🌿 Grasslands • Tactical Profile: Naive, curious, easily distracted.

Kitten is your welcoming guide to the world of chess. It understands how pieces move, but it has not yet mastered long-term plans. Kitten frequently pushes flank pawns, brings its Queen out too early, and gets lured into simple knight forks.

• How to Beat Kitten: Control the center (e4/d4), develop your Knights and Bishops, and castle early. Kitten will hand you tactical gifts within 15 moves.
• Reaction: Emits cheerful high-pitched mews when capturing and tilts its head with round wide eyes when put in check.

3. House Cat (~1200 ELO): The Couch Defender

Biome: 🏜️ Desert • Tactical Profile: Solid, risk-averse, defensive.

House Cat loves its cozy routine. It favors symmetrical openings like the Italian Game and London System. It rarely gambles with sacrifices, preferring to tuck its King into a safe cardboard box (castling) and build a sturdy wall of pawns.

• How to Beat House Cat: Avoid rushing. Because House Cat plays passively, seize maximum space on the board, trade off its defensive bishops, and open up central files with pawn breaks (c4 or e5).
• Reaction: Purrs lazily during equal positions and twitches its ears irritably when you disrupt its pawn chain.

Grandmaster Meow is the final boss of the core campaign. Sits serenely atop its throne with closed eyes, calculating deep combinations 10 to 14 plies ahead. It does not fall for cheap tricks, converts microscopic positional advantages into wins, and defends tenaciously.
